The Pentax Takumar 85 mm, f/1.8 lens is a well-known prime lens for 35 mm SLR film cameras. This Pentax close-up portrait lens is a fast fixed-focus, telefocus lens. You can capture intimate close-ups of photographic subjects with this telephoto lens. The aesthetic and technical qualities of the Pentax Takumar lens, such as sharpness, color rendering, and out-of-focus bokeh are highly rated. The filter diameter of this super-multicoated Pentax close-up portrait lens is 58 mm, while its minimum focusing distance is 85 cm. A small switch on this telephoto lens lets you change from the auto to the manual mode. The Pentax Takumar lens is compatible with screw mount 35 mm film cameras, although the same lens also comes with a K-bayonet mount.

    This lens is anything but sharp

    Maybe I have a bad sample (although it looks absolutely new, immaculate). It's not sharp, at all. There is a lot of glow between 1.8 and 2.8. I don't get it. People say this is magic lens. It's not sharp. It has no character. Go figure. I use it with NEX-7 and A7RII
