Nice tactile phone, takes some getting used to and some features I never got to work. To continue using this phone I might even have to read the handbook. However I have now bought a Blackberry and feel more inclined to spend my effort learning how to make that work. Will keep the RIZR as it is a great back-up phone with a monster battery life.
The Z3 MOTORIZR was discontinued by Motorola in 2007/8, but remains a very capable & robust handset (if you can find one??). Unfortunately, the iPhone craze has now driven all manufacturers in the 'touch screen' direction, but why should cell phones now resemble slim-line versions of the trusted old Palm Pilot?? No need. Motorola mobile phones are currently about as common as hens teeth, seemingly because of the financial disaster the mobile division brought upon itself, by the crazy discounting policy they adopted with their fantastically popular RAZR models. As such, they have withdrawn almost completely, from the mobile market at present. It's a pity, as no other manufacturer has managed to create a range of handsets (OK.. so one or two of the models bombed.. but hey...) with anything like the robust build quality, class, ease of use, desirability and tactile brilliance of the Motorola mobile family. The Z3 ticks all those boxes and more, and trust me......, if you've never tried a slider, but often fancied one, this is the model. Trouble is, from where??????? Z3.? 'We love ya'. Now....... where's my e-bay password....Read full review
I wanted a replacement for my Z3 as the centre button was plucked off by my niece and I couldn't get back the smooth movement of the original. This is such a great phone. I adore the compactness of this phone and it has everything I would want in a phone. I was disappointed by the phone I bought on Ebay though as it was one that the user had to record voice tags for each contact to voice dial - whereas my old Z3, and indeed any other one I'm familiar with will voice dial any number entered in the book. I use this feature quite often which to make calls using my bluetooth headset. I have another two friends who, having had a Z3, have bought another one.
the phone is an excellent quality phone with numerous functions to mention.i had had this model before and it proved to be a very reliable handset
I'm absolutately happy with this new phone that I brought. It has taken me a couple of goes to get everything the way I wanted it like I had in my other phone but I managed to do all of this without looking in the book. Also have another phone for my husband but he will get this for our wedding anniversary. Can't access the web but I think I need to read the book properly to set up the phone right. I would highly recommend this phone type. I have never been a lover of Nokia phones. Too common. I will happily stay with Motorolas until something better comes along.
