This receiver is actually amazing overall. I have never owned a network-enabled receiver before and to be able to control it via my phone app is so cool, particularly the subwoofer, volume, and center channel levels which tend to always need adjustment in an apartment living space. I bought this receiver to take full advantage on Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio for the most part. Outside that I'm used to how a Home Theater works. There is though a bug that I do not like, which is the the TV/CD and Cable modes experiences a .5 to whole second audio sync issue. It has to be adjusted to the max of -180ms to be corrected, and that setting must be made each time the input is selected. I haven't found any fixes for this as of yet.

The unit worked for about 3 days and quit having sound, but it does have display lights. I turned off power switch and when i turned back on it played again for a short time, now not working !

Programmable features are exceptional and easy to navigate with manual provided or on-line. Receiver easily drives my jbl l series speakers in 7.1 configuration with adequate power to 'shake' the walls. Sound is clear in all ranges with no discernible distortion. Pricing very reasonable on EBay for this older unit.

This is a full-featured receiver and, as such, is not just plug and play. I have had a reasonable amount of experience with audio equipment, starting back in the Lafayette Electronics era, and I still have not gotten all of the features operational. That is not a complaint about the unit, however, it takes a while to balance everything. The sound is awesome and the capability to have all my components, including my secondary computer, run through one place is most convenient. The only thing I would wish were included is an input for a turntable. I realize that it is not as popular as it once was, but it would be an easy addition to the back panel I would think. Below is the unit with all the components it is currently accessing.

I have ten TVs, six with surrounded no sound in my house. I have Yamaha, Denon, Harmon Lardon and Onkyo receivers. Onkyo are my favourite. So many options and the sound is amazing even without using their Odyssey self set up. Plus the 7.2 means two subs so you feel the bass whether you are listening to Comfortably Numb, watching Saving Private Ryan or The cannons at the end of the 1812 Overture. I hope this review helps.
