  • BU 1947 florin

I chose to purchase this coin because I liked the uniform, light toning in the fields with a soft luster. This coin was in the first issue of copper-nickel coins and was a 2 year type. The issue was heavily circulated and relatively few were retained by collectors. Further, these coins (florins) continued to circulate after the decimal issues as 10 new pence until 1992 when this denomination was replaced with a downsized 10 pence coin. The price ($5.25) seemed more than fair for an unc. coin almost 70 year old.
