Consumer AdviceContains incest theme and sexualised nudity
From beginning To End - A very brave film on a social taboo.
This Brazilian film explores the intimacy between two half brothers growing up, one is older than the other. Both parents express the concern that they are too intimate with one another ask them to talk about it but in the end do not make a terrific fuss about it.
As time goes on and they loose both parents and both brothers find through the absence of one of them being chosen for Olympic swimming trials they both find they can be parted from one another. Towards the end of the film when they are both of adult age this turns into a homosexual affair.
This film tackles the taboo of the problem of incest and makes a very good job of it without hysteria or being exploitive in any way, but it is fighting against normal social conventions.
Brazilian films are hard to get hold especially with English subtitles but they are amongst the world`s leading filmmakers.
It's a really engaging and exciting and romantic and very enjoyable to read and I would recommend this book to everyone and they should go and buy dvd asap
