I bought this for my Husband for Christmas, as he'd been going on for ages about how much he liked it as a small boy, and would REALLY love the dvd's if I could get them. I was worried they would turn out to be a disappointment, and the rosy memories of childhood would be shattered. Unlike many television programmes from the 1960's this has passed the test of time. In the earlier, Lost in Space, the women are always left by the spaceship doing the washing and ironing. Which even when I was little, annoyed me, not in the Land of the Giants, the girls have more adventures, and are more outgoing and 'modern'. Yes, the men are still macho alpha males, but, the black second in command is not always subordinate to the other white men. The stories are exciting and snappy, the special effects are 99% spot on too, which considering how far we have come in digital processes says a lot for the production values. Sometimes the stories can bee a little trite, and contrived. Sometimes we have shouted 'Bet they do....' or we shout 'don't be so daft!' But it is all part of the fun. My husband, brother and I have enjoyed watching the series, so too has our daughter and her friends. We will be getting series 2,Read full review

As exciting and entertaining as I remember it as a kid in 1968. Characters are watchable. Story lines are exciting. Colours and locations are brilliant. Obviously its not Steven Spielberg fx quality but for its age its forgivably fantastic and very entertaining.
