An enjoyable watch
This series of programs about a Detective chief superintendent of police. During the grip of Second World War, is a fantastic insight into the difficulties of policing in a war time situation. Wonderful costumes, good actors, and storylines giving it an absolute pleasure to watch. Thoroughly enjoyable, would recommend to everyone.

As expected...nothing more, nothing less !
We already had these episodes on VHS, but we wanted to get them on DVD as we thought this would be more versatile & reliable, so we already knew the stories. I think it warrants a higher rating but not because it is "better than expected" and definitely not because it's "amazing". It is exactly what I expected it to be.....entertaining stories involving known characters which we enjoy watching, and on that basis only I would give it five stars !

Absolutely wonderful. Nothing distasteful just thoroughly good stories, well acted and beautifully presented. All such productions are good, without gratuitous sex, violence and obscene language. Things like ; Public Eye, Love on a Branch Line, Ever Decreasing Circles and above all: Dad's Army. All fabulous and nothing embarrassing when seen in mixed company

What's Not to Like?
Never watched this before so a pleasure to catch up with it now. Fabulous acting, great writing and plots that you can't guess at. Plus, because writer has researched the Second World War, it gives a great entertaining history lesson of how things really were. What's not to like?!
