Poor film of the book
I first read the book, and was so absorbed into the remarkable experience of these prisoners of the Russians in WW2 that I felt I just had to obtain the film adaptation to bring it even more into life by adding another dimension. I couldn’t have been more disappointed. The film barely followed the story, missing out large essential chunks, leaving me thinking if I had seen the film first I certainly would not have bothered to read the book.

Excellent story
An excellent movie telling the true story of a few men who managed, against the odds, to escape a POW camp in Siberia. They had to battle with the elements moving from one country to the next and had the will to survive living of anything they could find to eat. Amazing how they ever walked that distance!
