No disappointment here !
If you watch this movie as a child on a Cathode Ray Tube TV and enjoyed it , then you're going to love this. The transfer to Blu Ray is excellent. The quality of the packaging into this format ( menus etc ) is done well. The original movie is memorable for its stunning scenic artwork and animations , and its novel special sound effects. Blu Ray excels at rendering both of these. If you've not seen this movie in HD picture and sound then you've not seen it. Forbidden Planet.
I don't think I can add much to the many reviews of this film, probably the best Sci Fi film of the 50's. Based on Shakespeare's The Tempest, the story is riveting and the special effects stand up to modern television scrutiny as the Blu Ray quality is excellent. There are some extras in the form of 2006 US programmes with some of the original cast, most of whom are sadly no longer with us. In summary, I never tire of watching this fiim.
