Thoroughly absorbing
Although filmed a while ago, its excellent acting and directing endures. There are surprise pop up stars like Liz Taylor, James Stewart, Robert Mitcham. Well worth a watch - history and drama fans will both enjoy.
Interesting series depicting the North and South of America before, during and after the Civil War, where the South wanted to continue slavery and the North wanted it to end. The series focuses on two friends who train at West Point together and their families. One is from the North, the other from the South. Lots of twists and turns to the plot, and kept me engaged throughout. All DVDs have subtitles in more languages, which is good for people who are not natives speakers of English. Amazing
This is an amazing film, giving a viewpoint from the two sides in the American civil war. The cast is made up of some great actors and actresses, and there performances make you laugh and cry. The film looks at the slavery, families and outcome of the war. Very well portrayed from everyone, outstanding cast and brilliantly performed. an interesting way to see the history of the civil war and the opinions of both sides in the conflict. Slightly different from the book but a treat with the filming of the country-side.
