A poor inflation of a great stage show.
I saw the original London stage production which I enjoyed more than J C Superstar. It was simple, direct and inventive. This film version is 'halfway between holy foolishness and hippy indulgence'. The best Godrock

Hippyfest.
1 great song, happy hippy film about Jesus & his apostles told by a dancing theatre troop. It's so beautifully shot you can forgive the religious undertones. I go as far to say it's more of a love letter to New York. So much of the film is made from amazing angles atop some of the most famous buildings in the world. The twin towers were just being finished as they dance on top, can't help feeling a bit sad. Better days. But I'm a bit sentimental and like the film, so there.
