I remember when I was about 15/16 sneaking into the local cinema to see this and at the time it left an impression. Now all these years later to watch it proved a great disappointment. There is nothing in it that deserves a 15 certificate. PG maybe. Although in the notes it mentions an uncut version, but doesn't confirm if this is it - which I think it isn't. Seeing British actors playing Japanese officers and local(to Bray studios)Chinese waiters playing the solders makes it very uncomfortable to watch. Also a sand quarry in England doesn't look like the far east... Stay with Hammers "Dracula" and "Frankenstein" etc.
This is a film well made as it makes me remember what my mum used tio tell me about her brother who was held by the Jappanse in the second world war and what Happend to him i am glad i have this film as we should never forgort //
