James Nesbitt plays respected neurosurgeon Gabriel Monroe in this compelling medical drama, from writer Peter Bowker (OCCUPATION, DESPERATE ROMANTICS). The series focuses on the impact serious injury or disease has on all involved in its treatment and care; from the patient, to the family, to the hospital staff. Right at the heart of it is Monroe; a man as respected as he is flawed, with a cockiness to match, all of which his colleagues are made only too aware. MISTRESSES star Sarah Parish plays cardiac surgeon Jenny Bremner, with Tom Riley (BOUQUET OF BARBED WIRE) as anaesthetist Dr Laurence Shepherd.
