ReviewsEmpire Magazine - A grittier, saltier than usual rom-com populated with laughs, smarts and a couple you can root for., Film4 - Best rom-com of the year? Quite likely., Sky Movies - A feel good breeze kept fresh by winning performances, it's worth going the extra mile for., New York Times - [E]nough insight and charm to make you wonder why frequent-flier love is not a more popular theme in romantic comedies.
Additional InformationDrew Barrymore and Justin Long star in this romantic comedy about a long distance romance that may be worth fighting for. Garrett (Long) is still nursing the wounds from a recent break-up when he met Erin (Barrymore), an unflinchingly honest girl with a big talent for bar trivia. Hitting it off immediately, the pair spends a romantic summer together in New York City. It was supposed to be a summer fling, but as fall approaches and Erin returns to San Francisco, the spark is still there. Subsequently dividing his days between working and hitting the bars with best friends Box (Jason Sudeikis) and Dan (Charlie Day), Garrett drops everything whenever Erin calls. Despite the disapproving hesitation of their friends, both Garrett and Erin start to suspect that their summer fling may just be the real thing.

GOING THE DISTANCE reinvigorates a genre that often relies on tired, worn-out jokes and predictable outcomes. Director, Nanette Burstein helms a superb cast in a fun film packed with hilarious dialogue though never short on heart.
