Alf Garnett what a star
Warren Mitchell excels as the outspoken bigot Alf Garnett from London. The chemistry between the characters absolutely works, and leads to several hysterical situations. Everything in Alf's life (in his mind) is intentionally geared to making his life miserable and torturous. Sit back and enjoy Alf unravel his twisted views in lengthy hilarious sermons against the system and the establishment. But not against the Queen, oh no, well one of them anyway. The humor is dated in some ways, but those who are entertained by less than politically correct comedy and language will be completely satisfied. I couldn't stop laughing all the way through the episodes. The Dvd's menus are easy to navigate, each episode is roughly 30 mins, so you should be able to fit a fair few in during an evenings entertainment.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A BBC gem that will still be seen many years from now.
This series was a product of its time and would never be remade today on racial or misology grounds. What you have to bear in mind is the show was designed for you to laugh with them NOT against them. The script today is just as relevant today as it has always been in fact more so. The show was so popular that Holland ,Germany and U.S.A. created their own versions of the show the German version being very interesting as Alf looked like Hitler.
