I am an avid collector of all the surviving episodes of the Callan series. Unfortunately this one being the final in the trilogy Fell woefully short of expectations... God knows what Edward Woodward was thinking of when he took part in this joke production almost a parody of the previous masterpieces that he starred in. His judgement must have been impaired by the size of the cheque he received for putting his name and face to this abomination..!

This is a spy feature that pulls no punches and is probably as accurate as it gets. James Bond is exploderama gadget fantasy, Callan tells it like it is (was). The only fault is it seems relatively watered down from earlier episodes.

Very much more like an extended television episode, rather than a genuine feature film. It was clearly made on a very tight budget. However, if you enjoyed the TV series, you will, most likely, enjoy this. Some may find it's 'slow burning' pace and lack of glamour a bit disappointing. It is very British and I liked it!
