Old School EQ Works Best For Me
First, I bought one of these new decades ago and loved it. Decided to "upgrade" to a new EQ several years ago but I never could adjust the sound like the KGC-6042. So I just bought a like new KGC-6042A with the amber and green lighting. I had it professionally installed at Best Buy along with a new 4 channel amp and now my truck just rocks! This EQ works great and is so much easier to use than my Pioneer DEQ-9200 it replaced. Sometimes the older equipment is just better and in my case the Kenwood KGC-6042A is better. I can turn the subs off or on with one button. I can add or subtract bass with the touch of a slider. Same thing with the other 9 sliders. So easy to adjust the sound to what you want. All controls are easy to use. The only thing Kenwood did wrong in my opinion was put the amber/green display control in a location I can`t get to without taking it out of the dash mounting. Luckily it is set on green so it's not a problem for me. I am just so happy to have this "vintage" EQ back in my truck.
