A good PLC
This is an Allen Bradley MicroLogix 1500 PLC. If you don't know what that means, you don't need one, and if you do, you will know whether you need one or not. This a quite a good small PLC which for some reason was discontinued in 2017 and spares are no longer available through the normal channels. There is no point in using it in new designs and they aren't cheap enough to get one just to play with; the only reason you'd buy one is if you have one in service and need a spare. I believe that Series A of the 1764-28BXB base module had problems with some I/O cards at elevated temperatures, but nearly all of the base modules you'll find these days are Series B. Otherwise I can vouch that these are good PLCs. It's a pity they discontinued them.
