A fantastic mid range beginner DSLR with a host of features that you can use or leave to the camera. The camera is a decent weight so that if you buy any subsequent tele photo lenses it balances well. The flip tilt LCD is excellent for getting shots close to the ground and the HD video feature is a great bonus. What set this camera apart is the 11 point focus the endless shutter and ISO settings and the ability to take photos witout the flash in hardly any light. It has some nice touches as well, for instance the selective colour shot, the miniature shot and the Sport blurring shot. One downside is that the camera does NOT have an in built focus motor so care needs to be taken when purchasing lenses making sure they have motors. The purchase reason is for taking Football match photos as the ISO settings are great for floodlights and quick action shots. I originally set out to get the 3100 but opted for this one due to the burst mode taking approximately 4 shots a second, ideal for sports.Read full review
Really nice camera and works great. Got all the essential stuff for an upper entry level in the world of photography. The kit lens is really nice and offers standard views at 50-55mm and also extends to wider angles at 18mm. Perfect for most day to day pictures. Bought an additional 70-300mm lens and feels pike the package is complete. Few shots from this camera attached

Borrowed one of these to take photos for my sisters wedding to save her some money, loved it so much I had to get one for myself. Not overly complicated to use if you've had a little experience with a digital camera and image quality is outstanding. It would be hard to be dissapointed with what you get for your money.

Fancy moving into DSLR minefield? Well, here's a perfect solution to keep you hooked for a while. Its ability to take photos has blown my mind - crisp, balanced and so easy to operate. OK, I did spend a few hours researching the art and equipment of photography before concluding this or the Canon 600D perfect tools. Well my brother has the Canon, so bring it on Nikon, there's nothing between the 2, just personal preference. You will bond instantly with the build and money well spent feeling. A proud purchase with so much scope, you'll be seeing the world through a lens from now on! Love it.
Bought as an upgrade from D60 and for Video Recording feature. Its good camera, just I don't think its value will last with the introduction of mirror less technology. Nikon J1 not bad. Its a good camera, it holds its own against the Canon EOS 600D. Very similar, only professionals would know the differences in quality. As an amateur they pretty much equal.
