Can't go wrong with JBL
I own 5 JBL speakers. I won't buy any other brand. Sound and price is great. This onbeat awake was a steal price. I just had to buy the ac cord and I was set to go. I don't use the alarm part since I have one already but the screen for the time is clear and I can read the numbers if I wanted. I bought it for the speaker. I'm not a fan of the mesh in the front though. I use this speaker portable and afraid It might tare or nick the front but it will still work without it. I also don't like it only works with the cord. No cord no power. It should be battery operated or rechargeable as well but technically it's an alarm so I guess that's fine. Over all I love the bass and sound of this JBL. It does exactly what I need so I'm happy. Oh, this JBL didn't come with instructions but it's not that difficult to use or just see "You Tube".Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Almost perfect
Although the speaker has terrific sound, and Apple products charge quite fast on the dock, The speaker does suffer some Bluetooth issues. While streaming audio via Bluetooth, if ever you want to adjust volume from your device rather than the speaker, there is quite the delay in the adjustment. This could lead one to believe it is not functioning, and can cause you to hit that volume up another time or two. End result could make you jump out of your chair when the adjustment finally kicks in at the speaker end, and scares the crap out of you because it's soooo loud! One downside for some might be the lack of a rechargeable battery. This unit is powered by AC outlet only. It does not have wireless power capabilities. I knew this going in, and didn't mind, because realistically, you're never going to find a speaker of this sound quality, build quality, or with it's output power, that runs on a battery. It's just not feasible. Awesome sound, perfect amount of bass, backed by the Harmon and JBL reputation. Need I say more?Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Very good portable speaker
I used it for a week now. Sound is very good for such lightweight and small footprint. Don't expect deep base, but sound fills up space pretty good, enough volume, convenience of charging iPad at the same time, and looks well built- not flimsy. I paid $30 on ebay- incredible value.
