Unique innovation to a high quality Spyderco
The karambit style knife for self defense is a unique innovation, but has actually been around for centuries. Taking a super high quality Spyderco knife, like this one, and making it in the fashion of a karambit self-defense knife was genius. As you draw the knife out of your pocket the feature of the "Emerson Wave" hooks the back corner of your pocket and the blade is deployed instantly. With very little practice you can confidently deploy the blade in a microsecond during it's draw and it is even quicker then the best switchblade on the market. There are many educational videos as well as DVDs on how to become proficient utilizing a karambit style knife and I highly recommend this one because it is a Spyderco, one of the best quality, most reasonably priced knives on the market. the first time you draw this knife from your pocket and find the blade fully deployed and locked you will be surprised and since you can mount the pocket clip on either side it is completely ambidextrous. having a wide variety of Spyderco knives in my collection I was elated to add this one and it will be my daily carry knife without question. As it is a Spyderco manufactured knife the fit, finish and attention to every detail is impeccable and without equal for the price. if out-of-pocket deployment is not your desire the patented Spyderco loop in the blade opens it effortlessly. The smooth pivot of the blade is the result of Spyderco's legendary machining expertise and even though it is often copied, it has never been fully duplicated in my opinion. As a gift or a purchase for personal use you will not be disappointed and your intended recipient will be very pleased and satisfied.
