Better products out there.
I paid $20 used (perfect condition) for mine, so you get what you pay for. Using my wireless connection, it is a little slow. Cuts out sometimes. Hangs up on Netflix often. When set on 16:9 it could take up to 4 minutes to buffer an episode and even then would often hang up and not play. A Slow, Obsolete Media Streamer with No Further Roku Support
I bought this to add Netflix access to my non-HDMI Sony big screen TV. What a disappointment! This is the only Roku model in recent years to have component (1080i RGB) video output in addition to HDMI. A $15-25 aftermarket cable (not available from Roku Canada) is required, but it does correctly output the proper 1080i signal to legacy TVs. Roku stopped XD/S 2100X manufacture in 2011. This model and several others lost Roku support in 2015. That means that its OS CANNOT be updated beyond 3.1 build 1198. After spending several hours with Roku Tech Support I learned you cannot download a new, working version of their Netflix app either - a problem because the original app no longer works. Word to the wise: DON'T RESET THE BOX OR DELETE ANY APPS ALREADY ON IT. They CANNOT BE RESTORED. To be fair, some of the other legacy apps still work - though slowly. The ultimate solution for me was to buy a currently supported $50CAD Roku Express+. I used an HDMI adapter to send video to my TV's DVI port and used composite (red & white) stereo for my TV's sound input. Works fine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Roku XD/S Model 2100X is no longer supported by ROKU.
Roku no longer supports this model and stopped streaming through it. You have to buy a new model. Also, new models do not support audio. So, if you have separate stand alone speakers that you connected to your old XD/S Model 2100X streaming player, you now must use the speakers installed in your TV. Roku has a model called Express year 2018 that is designed to connect with external speakers, but it no longer is available.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

End of Life (EOL) Product
This may have been a great product at one time, but it is essentially done. I knew this model was on the backside of its useful life, but I went ahead and picked up a used XDS just for the optical digital output. I have Roku on a Sharp Smart TV and a newer Roku 3 box (RCA & HDMI only) which work fine with FLAC audio files, but the XDS is limited to MP3 and AAC formats only.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

I have two of these. Both work okay. The big problem is that one remote controls both devices. You have to use an a/c switch to shut off the one you aren't using at the moment, The unit itself does not have an on/off switch. Too old to update, no longer supported

Roku XDS- NO software updates.
Beware this unit is no longer supported by Roku. You will not be able to update the system software or add any (not previously downloaded) channels from the Roku channels store. Hope this helps, I found out the hard way...Ugh.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
