If it is supposed to be 99.9% food grade it isn't. A 30% solution in distilled water showed a number of insoluble light brown particles. I have no way of telling if the product contained soluble impurities but it really is not good enough and certainly not 99.9
This sodium nitrite was found to be fit for purpose & porpoise. My cetacean couldn't get enough of the stuff! Sorry - that was flippant (boom boom!)
Used as a general reagent, it worked well, so I didn't feel I needed to assay / analyse . I would buy again, probably in larger quantities.
I used this to cure brisket, it works well.
I feel the safety labelling on the product could be better. I think if I can remember my chemistry from 50 years ago that quite small amounts can be poisonous?
