I think this phone is a great phone for construction workers, very sturdy is the whole line of G'zOnes, my hubby has had just about everyone of them & has ;loved them all, my husband is a painter, it is also a wonderful phone for 1st timers going from flip phones to smart phones as it is very easy to use, it does most things up to date smart phones do, keep in mind, it will take some getting use to the way the smart phones work, my hubby had the basics down in a few days & he doesn't do computers. I paid $55 for this phone with shipping, so great value there. Battery life is normal for a regular battery, he has been use to extended batteries so he doesn't like the battery life, extended batteries & back door are costly for this phone, however I bought him a charge & talk to solve the battery life problem.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

A small mechanics phone
I purchased 2 of these phones. One for me and the other for my husband. We are both heavy wheel mechanics and lets just say we are not the friendliest phone people. We had both cracked our screens on the Iphones we had. He had his replaced, but I had enough. I wanted a mechanic proof phone. And thats exactly what I got. And thats it....the operating system is to be desired, the battery life sucks, and my husband phone freezes every day. And oh my gosh do not let it get near any metal shavings!!! Not flashy but very functional
The phone is solid and performs well. It fits well in a shirt pocket and you do not need to purchase an additional protective case because of its rugged design. 16 GB internal memory and the option to insert a 32 GB micro card is more than adequate capacity. I transitioned from the nearly indestructable Blackberry Curve and Bold to the C811 for a bigger screen that I could read without my glasses. This is a great phone for people who work in the field and are exposed to the elements. I have purchased two additional batteries so that I can quickly swap a depleted battery for a full charge and not have to worry about connecting to a charging unit. I've read reviews complaining about the lower resolution screen but I have no problem with it. The camera is more than adequate and I get a kick out of how the pone includes the barometric pressure and temperature in the photo's details. Does the job for me
If you are a person that lives in the ruff and tumble physical world using phone calls, texts, with the occasional need for online access, and you're not tethered to technology to get through your day, then this phone should serve your needs. There is no question it will handle mishaps and abuse, I dropped mine in a cup of coffee this morning. But if you need to email, twitter, facebook, and surf the internet all day long, then you should look at something more suited to efficiently do those activities, with a longer battery life. The only downside for me is that it really needs a charging dock / cradle, which does not seem to be available for the 811. Very good phone!
This rugged smartphone is quite small, light and it has got a lot of interesting functions. It has got a long battery life and two fantastic speakers that can work also under water. The phone can be used only with Verizon, and the quite old android version is quite slow, but the device is perfectly working and usable. When you listen loud music with the headphones, you can't feel the clear sound that you hear using a Samsung or an Apple device. Great phone for the $
I bought one of these from Verizon well over two (2) years ago and it finally went skitzo on me. Great features if you are an outdoor type and has all of the ruggedness of a cased phone without the case. There are extended batteries out there that will greatly improve up time. Good volume, I can hear it and my conversations! Works on low signals. Photo quality, is just average. Very short Battery life!!! Less then a day; unless you disable nearly all apps. (I have left only messaging, contacts, and the camera open. I have also turned it to battery saying mode. Now the battery will last for a day on standby. So-So
The battery does not last as advertised. Unless you have boney fingers good luck getting where you want the screen to go. Phone microphone does not pickup well, people are always saying they can not hear me. The phone I ordered was brand new in an unopened box but came with no manual, so if you do not already know how to use one of these phones you must have patience, I don't have the time for learning on the fly.
