Great phone for seniors.
Bought this phone for my 89 year old mom. Despite some confusion at times due to Parkinsons, she's doing very well using this phone. Had a serious problem at first with the volume buttons on the side - they were too easy to turn to off while holding the phone. The result was no ring when I called her and no answer - not good. Solved the design flaw by putting a thick layer of hot melt glue on the volume buttons to make them less sensitive. The phone is a good size with large buttons, good volume ( when not accidentially turned off), and I like the dedicated 911 button.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The phone can not be activated by strait talk or Verizon. The phone will not take any SIM card and Verizon will not activate cuz technology is not compatible with this type of phone any longer.

Best Flip Phone Out Threre!
I had a Samsung Haven SCH-U320 for many years and liked it. NO it doesn't take pictures and NO you cannot access the internet but for making calls you can't find anything better. Recently by accident put my Samsung Haven through a wash and dry cycle. I thought the phone was toast. The screen turned all white and I could not see what I was doing. After drying it, the inner screen came back and I could make phone calls again. I ordered another one through E-Bay and it turned out to be new and exactly like my old one. The keys are big, the form factor is small so I can fit it in my pants or shorts with no problem. The speaker sounds great and the voice commands are also great. I use the phone for talking only (what's the matter with that?). The voices on the other end sound vibrant and crystal clear. Very easy to switch from "ear" to "speaker" with a push of a button. For those of you who are older and don't care about photo's and internet, this phone is a real gem. I love the "ICE" (in case of emergency) function. Put in your contacts for emergency and any medical notes you want to leave and when emergency personnel pick up your phone all the emergency info they need is at their fingertips. The "go to" phone for grandma!
My mother-in-law is 84 and NOT tech savvy! This is the first/last phone for her! She occasionally runs it through the washing machine by accident and we have to get her a replacement, but it's a sturdy, easy-to-use basic phone with big buttons.
