Best bang for the buck! Excellent for all applications
I host podcast, make youtube videos, live streams, interviews at cons and needed a better mic that would be versatile for any situation. This mic by far is one of the best mics you can get and break the bank to get. I used to have a Shure SM58 but after it finally quit working I went on the search for a new mic. This mic beat it in nearly every aspect. Sound is crisp and clear, cardiod pattern is excellent and doesn't need phantom power to work. I even picked up a XLR to TRRS cord so I could hook it up to my phone and it works perfect!!! Nice mic.
Heavy, seems to be a durable microphone. Sound is similar to sm58, but not the same. The capsule looks almost like an sm58. You have to crank a gain level a little to be heard, but this is not a problem! When you doing it, you get a great detailed sound without feedback. In my opinion this microphone is made to be a standard choice of any vocalist, I mean, it seems to fit at any voice, male or female. When you sing into this mic, you get a real honest sound, without any additional colors. I compared it with shure pg58, shure super 55, electro-voice n/dym967 and shure sm57 yesterday on vocals. Any of these mics are made for some type of voice. For example, pg58 takes my baritone well, super 55 takes high vocals better... Alot of people say buy the most expensive mic. As a mobile studio I reccomend the encore 100. I have made a full album with it and I've done a few with a blue spark. Great sounding mic!
I'm a touring musician and have used many different stage vocal mics. This stands up to the Sennheiser E935 and E945, Heil PR-22 and EV 767 no problem. Light years ahead of an SM58. Cuts through every well. Has a high class sound. These Blue Encore 100's are a great deal especially compared to what you pay for a Sennheiser E935 or 945. Plus they stand up to the rigors of touring which I do for a living. I can use whatever stage mic I want but I'm sold on these Blue Encores. Don't waste your time on SM58's or waste your money on pricier options like the E935's-grab one of these. everyone knows that the Shure SM58 is the workhorse of the industry but Blue is giving it a run for its money! the encore series is incredible. If you get a chance to get your hands on one, DO SO!! The Encore 100 is incredibly clear and worth every penny! The way the mic is shaped feels comfortable in the hand, the grill is attractive and functional, and the overall usability of the mic is just ideal for any live or studio setting.
