"The Good Companions" - Highest Quality Entertainment
I saw this series when it was first broadcast and thought it was just fantastic. Very faithful to J B Priestley;s wonderful novel, and so well cast, with beautiful costumes and Yorkshire locations. A cast album was made which I bought and have enjoyed constantly over the years. To be able to watch the series over and over was something I never thought would happen, as I have been waiting and waiting for the series to be released. The quality of the recording both on the visual and audio is superb, and up to the Network label's usual high standard. If you want nine hours of pure escapism and charm then make sure you buy this one!! Oh and wonderful songs too!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Wonderful adaptation of the play
A real gem, an adaptation of the play with period songs. Beautifully filmed, with appearances by Jan Francis (what a dancer!) even before 'Just Good Friends', and Judy Cornwell, unrecognisable from when she played Daisy in 'Keeping Up Appearances'.
