The Power of Three...
The Power of Three... No doubt we've all seen a few episodes between reruns on weekday morning line-ups or various points in syndication. I was definitely a die-hard Charmed fan from the start, caught em all when they aired and even have the DVD box sets still in my collection. I always wanted to pick up a copy of one of these replicas but had heard horrible things and seen even worse in pictures. I was, however, at least somewhat realistic in what I'd receive for the price I was willing to pay. Some seem to think they're getting an on-set copy exactly like the huge volume used to shoot in the show. I figured a brief synopsis of various shows, demons, characters and - of course - THE SPELLS so famously recited that most of us fans don't need a book to repeat them because we've seen the show so many times its ingrained in our heads. And, so I took a shot with this title that I have to say I'm impressed with. For someone who knows the show from open to close and wants to look back this is the perfect archive for all spells, potions, vanquishing and character insights P_PSD (Pre & Post Shannen Doherty). It's not by any means a large hardcover antique tombe and honestly it would probably be a little boring if it was. What you get here is more realistic and actually it reads more like a witch's Book of Shadows than fans of lower reviews would care to admit. A Book of Shadows can be a journal and contain details and stories but it's meant more to act as a working book of magic that will grow time and again with the witch, scribbled through many drafts and variations and is something never set in stone. It changes just the same as the one who keeps it. The fact that this is a little on the bare side for some entries I'm ok with because it touched on the more important episodes while giving them all a little justice and sharing the main thing anyone who buys this is going to want anyway which are those few poetic verses that kindle such fond memories. As for the seller - Super fast on the shipping and the book was delivered as described. It's clearly a used copy, but as someone who can be considered a little bit of a book snob in regards to the condition I keep my more favored titles in, I was happy with it and I thought it was a perfect pic for the price, a little flashback fun and I would definitely recommend it to any Charmed fan out there.
