Cloron Refined not a substitute for spirit wood dye
This is not a good wood dye. It barely colours the wood. It is like a thinned down version of Ronseal coloured interior wood varnish. It does NOT match in with previously used Colron spirit wood dye. It does NOT produce the expected "antique pine "colour. It does not soak in to the wood fibres. It is a surface finish. It might be useful as a thin seal layer after using a proper wood dye.I would not call it a "dye" because it does not do that. I shall now have to sand back the job I used it on, use another make wood dye, and hope I get the right colour to match previous work.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Colron changed formula - poor coverage
New type is water based and it covers 50% of what the old solvent based product used to do for the same money/volume. Hard to apply as not as visible where you have been as the old one looked 'wet' till it dried. The only plus is it doesn't stink and cleanup is easier however that doesn't outweigh how much more the job is going to cost.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
