Great engine stand
The Jegs engine stand is a great engine stand, very strong and the rotation feature works effortlessly with a small block chevy mounted to it . I had purchased a cheaper stand and had to make a adapter plate because the arms were to short. Finally got everything bolted up and started letting the stand take the weight, it just kept bending and flexing to the point I decided it was junk and removed the engine. Jegs stand is braced ,so it has hardly no flex ! You will need to purchase 5'' long bolts to use with the stand .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quality has gone down on these.
I bought on of these from JEGS when they were red and under the Sunnex name for about $30 more than this yellow one. I was able to compare side to side. I had thought it was the same one but upon receiving it I found out it is not nearly the same quality. the lugs that hold the engine are WAY less heavy duty and about 2" shorter where the bolts mount through to the engine. The geared crank for turning over is not smooth and has rough, tight spot in turning. The crank itself is of less quality, The paint quality is much less. They must have saved some money in the caster design, as these have welded mounts on the back so you just get wheels and bushings. Sunnex version has nice caps on the ends of the tubing on bottom. So yes it is functional, but the quality is no where near the red Sunnex one that I bought from JEGS last year.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

an engine stand is an essential tool for any shop. In the home garage, a rotating stand although more expensive is such a help. In my case, the engine I am working on is very heavy and this stand is about the best I could get, modifications will be easy to build on so that I can safely do my work. Better than a normal engine stand
Although I purchased 2 of these units I can say with confidence the quality is not what it used to be. I have an older stand which is far easier to rotate. Also, the gears inside the head on both of the new stands have problems. One unit is sloppy, where it takes 2 revolutions to engage the drive, and the other unit feels like it does not mesh well. And the arms do not feel as strong nor as robust as the older unit and feels like they can not hold up to fully assembled engines weight. (It does, but looks and feels sketchy). That being said, they are functional and they do make the job easier so I can not say it isn't worth purchasing them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Engine stand
Stand was missing some bolts that hold the gear mechanism to the stand. Also the gearcase cover was not attached and had to screws broken off in their holes. Luckily, I have the ability and patience to replace them and fix it myself. Just something I dont expect when purchasing a new product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Pretty disappointed..
This stand is obviously made in china. Welds are poorly finished, grinding marks all over, paint is thin and runny. Bolts are 4.8 hardness, high tolerances in all the holes. Had to spend an extra 40$ for grade 8.8 hardware to hold my 454. Very disappointed from what I thought was a reputable American company.
