A classic older reader!
The Sony prs-300 e-reader is thin, compact, and best of all, equipped with a sturdy metal casing; it’s a pleasure to hold! On the down side, there’s no backlight, only three font size choices, and you’ll have to side load books onto it via cable from your computer. Be sure also to get a Sony or compatible aftermarket charger with your purchase as it won’t charge via usb. That all being said, I still like the unit for its durability, solid construction, looks, and feel. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore...Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Difficult E-reader to use.
Still have to figure out how to load book's on it. It doesn't have a internet connection. The hard thing is trying to download from the computer to this ebook. Cheap, Works.
The product works fine enough for a ereader. allows most .epub and .pdfs added, though the small density of the screen does mean that some things get formatted weirdly. if you choose books around this limitation, it reads just fine, looking amazing. It does offer software, of which i could not use because the installer is long dead, so i just found out how to drag the files directly to the reader instead (in /database/media/books/) i like having the buttons, the lack of online connectivity (not forced to use kindle books, for example), and the build quality is nice metal. good choice if you're not dependant on online book stores and have simple text booksVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Replacement for same model unit
This was a replacement for a previously purchased (same model) ereader . Had looked over the ereaders available, but wife (who is the "avid" reader) is very familiar how this model works and it was easy enough to just load her books back on this one and go. The reader was pretty much as described (box was not sealed), but it fired up and could tell it was new from process. These are nice small ereaders that allow for the flexibility of side-loading books from various sources (we'd go broke if she bought every book). Slide power on/off button went wonky on old model after aro. 5 years of constant use (didn't actually die, but was getting very difficult to turn on/off. Let's hope this one doesn't suffer the same fate (odd failure if you ask me). Find this Sony ereader outstanding unit - too bad they stopped making them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good older model.
I like the Sony 300 ebook. It takes a while to get good with using this model and to get good at loading it with books. It is an early model and has no wifi connection. Not working
I have tried several times to download the eReader Library, but I get a message that it cannot be downloaded and that "maybe I am not on the internet", when I know I am on the internet. Oldie but goodie
I love this reader. I owned one of these years ago, and after eye strain and pain from tablet screens longed to have one again. This works like new. Feels natural to read and battery lasts about a month on a charge. Shipped fast. Would buy from again. Thank you!
