Small and ideal in tight spaces

This item is ideal for repairing the wiring on my vehicle. I used it to melt the solder in some connectors. Just right for getting into small spaces.

You get what you pay for.

They are not expensive and that is reflected in the quality. Not great. Not easy to fill with gas and seems to empty on it’s own between uses. I have had one in the past of a nearly identical design which was a lot better quality, not wrapped in paper on the body.

  • Cheap and not-cheerful :-(

I know it's only a few quid but mine lasted 3 minutes. The gas that I filled it with cost more than the torch! (Weller soldering iron butane). It works for a little while and then blocks intermittently because the orifice plate (disk with the hole) that controls the gas is tiny. It may be impurities in the gas, (unlikely), or it may be freezing - either way, it's a waste of money. When it worked for those first few minutes it's great. But having to dismantle it to clean the orifice by squirting gas the opposite way means that you will spend more time cleaning it than using it, and more money on gas than your central heating boiler! I would go for a slightly more expensive torch next time.

  • Cheap Rubbish.

I had similar micro blow torch in the 80's - but it cost me nearly a tenner then, so was a bit sceptical that this would be any good. "Read instructions before use," it says. Well I would have done, but the sellotape holding it to the card it was packed with, ripped them off, so I couldn't. Filled it with butane, turned it on slightly, and all that came out was a sickly yellow flame. Turned it up a little - the yellow flame got bigger - then went out. Now it won't work at all. I suspect this is a cheap chinese import. It's worthless. If the chinese coronavirus lasts as long - we're all safe...

  • Temperamental butane pencil torches

Have bought 3 of these from different suppliers and only one worked straight away, one worked when cleaned and one never worked at all! When working these are brilliant for plumb soldering and wiring jobs where an electric iron isn't powerful enough. Wouldn't be without mine!!

  • GOOD FOR THE PRICE.

DECENT BIT OF KIT FOR THE PRICE BUT BE CAREFUL WHEN FOLLOWING THE CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS, THERE IS THE TINIEST REGULATOR BETWEEN THE HEAD PIECE AND THE SCREW END OF THE GAS OUTLET THAT DROPPED OUT WHEN I CLEANED MINE, IT WAS ONLY LUCK THAT I FOUND IT AGAIN...

  • Could be better.

You can't fill it with gas because two out of three that I bought the valve gets stuck and it just empties out the gas... the one that did hold gas wasn't too bad, I have used it for soldering but you've got to be quick cos it doesn't hold much gas lol..

  • Do not buy!!!!!!

Worked for a couple of seconds then flame went orange and all gas leaked out and now no longer works. Instructions do not match product and there are no min, max marks on the torch as stated in instructions. Will burn out sealing ring according to instructions if turned past maximum but you have to guess where maximum is. Not the torch that should come in this packaging. Stay away. Dangerous

  • Please DO NOT buy this product.

I recently bought this item. It worked for a few minutes, and then the flame died. I tried to re-fill it (with 3 different aerosols), but it would not accept gas. The unit, on turning up to maximum, a (very) small ordinary flame appeared, & would not extinguish- downright dangerous-fire now out & item in the bin. I contacted the seller, & they requested that I post the item back to them-I would not take a serious risk, & post it!. Please DO NOT buy this piece of "danger".
