Contains real carbolic acid 😉
This isn't just a coal tar fragrance like Wrights coal tar soap. This Blue Power Carbolic soap contains real carbolic acid. It is a lovely deep red colour & a rich creamy lather which smells really nice. Just sitting there in it's little soap dish it fills the whole bathroom with it's scent of real carbolic acid. You can even put a bar in your drawer or wardrobe. I think it's also worth remembering that carbolic acid fights a lot of bugs that things like alcohol gel don't. Some bugs like C Difficile are resistant to alcohol gel but are killed by carbolic acid. There are an awful lot of products out there that claim to be carbolic soap but they aren't real carbolic acid. This 1 is genuine & you can really trust the brand. There's also some sellers that show a blue power carbolic soap picture but in the description they say that the soap comes in a different wrapper apparently a new design. It's not blue power. Look where it says Brand.. It should say blue power. If it says carbolic then I would stay away from that seller & stick with 1 like the seller I buy from & then you know that you're getting the real thing.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not what I would call a pure carbolic soap.
This is an excellent hand soap that cleans very well and don't leave any greasy nursing fatty nonsense behind. But I would classify it more as an tar soap than a carbolic soap. It has a rather pungent odor that lingers for a long time on your skin. So if you don't mind to smell like a sailor or equestrian this is the soap for yer. :-)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Insect repellent
My daughter went to Greece and showered each morning using this soap for 10 days she was not bothered by insects/flies at all. She ran out of soap and could only use normal insect repellent for her last 3 days and was bitten/ stung at least a dozen times. How you remember it
