Another great ThinkPad dock! Allows you to use your laptop as a desktop, and still pick it up and go at any time with no mess of cables to unplug.
A very nice dock! Make sure you update your firmware, though! There are some really nasty bugs in older firmware versions, and chances are that yours has never been updated.
The bugs included intermittent disconnections, in the case of using two DisplayPort monitors, often only one would work when waking up from sleep, and during the disconnections everything would freeze for 5-10 seconds. If a video was playing the sound would switch from my external speakers to the laptop speakers, and I couldn't pause because my USB keyboard was also disconnected.
All fixed after the firmware update. I took a few days to work this out before making any harsh judgements because I had read online that some people had similar issues that were fixed in a firmware update. I unfortunately needed to use Windows to update the firmware. I was already running GNU/Linux on the main drive, so I ordered a hard drive caddy to go in place of the DVD slot and then I put a spare hard drive in there to install Windows on just for this. Very annoying, but worth it since all is well now. I also updated my BIOS while I was at it, because that also tends to require Windows. There was an update as recent as 2019 despite my laptop being a few years old, so it probably had important fixes.
Overall I am now very pleased, the rocky start is all in the past.
