Mellow, haunting sound.
This is a very specialist item. Banjo players will be familiar with metal strings, but some may not have tried non-metal, however these are only suitable for particular banjos - mainly the 'old time' or 'classic(al)' types. That being said, these have transformed the sound of my 100+ year-old Clifford Essex open back banjo which now produces a very mellow, haunting sound without the high jangly overtones. If that is what you are looking for, give these a try. Fitting is not as straightforward as off-the-peg loop end metal strings. There are no ready made loops but I found that classical guitar style whipping knots work fine. Also being non-metallic, these strings take a while to stretch and stay in key, but that is just a natural feature of the material. All in all I really like the final result and tonality, but this is very much a personal preference.

Cracking string sound lovely, got them on my fretless banjo and it's now my favourite sounding banjo, if I weren't so skint I'd buy them for all my banjos
