Works with Windows, but...
This is an amazing way to take your ThunderBolt compatible laptop and easily dock it with an array of other devices by simply plugging in only one cord (aside from the power cord to the laptop, which you'll still need). However, even though this technically works with Windows, you will still need to manually install drivers on your computer: - Ensure you have the latest ThunderBolt drivers from your particular vender, which will vary (e.g. for my Dell Precision M3800, I still had to manually install from Dell's support website) - Most people on Windows will encounter issues with USB drivers for this particular hub. This is resolved by going to Fresco Logic's website (the supplier for the USB controller chips which are built inside of this device) and installing their latest drivers as well, specifically for the "USB 3.0 Host Driver" (the current version was 3.6.8 as of this writing). Unexpected newer model - wonderful surprise
I didn't realize this was actually a newer model than the one I currently have, basically the same features, only a bit smaller footprint. I needed a second for a 2012 Mac mini. The Belkin Thunderbolt 2 Express Dock is a very useful well designed Tool!
I originally purchased this item so I could hopefully add a 3rd monitor to my setup... That didn't work out for reasons that have little to do with this unit. I could have used an additional Thunderbolt port, but it only comes with 2 and I'm using them both... The other ports make it a very useful tool. I use the USB ports for all sorts of things and they come in very handy. All in all, this is a well designed and well built Dock. I'm glad I made the investment.
