Nice Replacement For GeoSat Pro LNBF
After a freak lightning strike fried one of my GeoSat Pro LNBFs, I decided I should buy some spares. Fortunately, the strike spared my Stab HH90 positioner, and I had no other damage. I liked the specs on this LNBF, and the fact I was called Maverick in my younger days probably did sway me some also. My decision was a good one as I found the Maverick LNBF compared very favorably in actual use with the GeoSat Pro LNBFs I have been using for years. In fact, I saw some slight improvement in dB gain despite both brands have the same gain rating. The fact two of these Maverick LNBF's were below the price of one current GeoSat Pro LNBF just made my purchase an excellent one. Just so you know, I have used AMIKO since the Fridge FTA days and also used the Amiko Universal HI/Low frequency band (L-104) LNBFs. Those LNBF types are mostly obsolete in the USA now as there are very few, if any, satellites in the North American spectrum that utilize High/Low bands. These Universal LNBF types also produce less gain, and the single frequency types fully outperform them when using a smaller 90cm dish. In short, I recommend the Maverick LNBF after seeing its performance in my old GeoSat Pro 90cm dishes. My testing was done using a new OS MIO+ 4K receiver from Brian at Titanium Satellite, and with an old Fridge FTA AMIKO A3 receiver.
