Very nice razor, but more aggressive than i thought..:
This is my second double edge safety razor. First one was merkur 34c. Been using merkur about a year and really liked it. But the parker 99r is much more aggressive than the merkur. Even with a lord platinum blade. Which is not a super sharp blade. But razor is built very well, looks very nice, nice long handle for bigger hands, and performs excellent. But i wouldnt reccomend it for a first time safety razor user. Would reccomend merkur 34c for a beginner.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Closest shave possible.
I recall my Dad using these razors. I always used Atra Trac 2 and electric shavers. I wanted a closer shave with a minimal amount of ingrown (from poorly cut whiskers from Atra n electrics) hairs and this Parker fills the bill. I like the butterfly head on it, too. Very convenient. It’s much heavier than an Atra so that needs getting used to and it needs to be used with more care than an Atra or else you’ll look as if “weasels ripped [your] flesh”. Parker 99R Safety Razor
This is a great product. I like this one better than my Merkur 34C, and the Micro Touch. The top opens easily, so far it hasn't got stuck like the Micro Touch. I actually have to put WD-40 on the Micro Touch every now and then just to get the doors open. I also like the shark blades that came with it. Maybe just a little more than the Feather blades. A mans razor
I hate them plaatic multiblade junk I have been buying! One hair wrecks the multiblades and the handles break trying to apply pressure to my face to shave. This Parker glides like butter doesn't clog and gave me the best shave I ever had!
