Combining stunning looks with remarkable sound and playability the GDP-200 Digital Ensemble Grand Piano by Gear4music is a premium quality instrument offered at a great price. The Digital Ensemble Grand Piano features a beautiful polished ebony cabinet along with realistic sounds and weighted hammer action keys making it near indistinguishable from any acoustic.
First, this item is a rebranded and now discontinued piano called MGP-150 from Ringway Tech (a Chinese company) released in 2011 and it really shows its age. The sound quality is average at best and interface is awful. The grand Piano sound is nice at the bottom end (surprising) and ok at the top end, but it’s really let down by the mid-specifically around F4 to Bb4 where it sounds really tinny, thin and weak and has a strange distinctly electric piano tone around here. The rest of the voices are a joke the electric piano is truly shameful, the bright piano is unusable..it was only after about 30 mins I hooked it up to my computer and ran logic, used the piano sounds from that which were way better-so this thing is an expensive midi controller with a light action that doesn’t feel weighted
It Looks amazing, it’s very heavy, and has a beautiful high gloss finish; that’s it really. Save your money and wait.
