A Philosophy gem
It gives great insight into the field the fields of Philosophy and Art. It is one of my all time favorites. I just had to have a copy. This book does a great job in bridging the gap between Logic and Aesthetics. It clarifies many conflicts between Philosophy and Art ;clarifies the connection between Mathematics and Symbols of all kinds. The gateway to Langer's brilliant work on the arts
Susanne Langer was the smartest person to write about art since Aristotle. This book on the nature of the symbol is the key to her work. It is clearly written but requires mental work.
