I have this antex soldering iron for a long time and it just rocks. Unfortunately, the tip broke a few years ago and i was unable to find a replacement in the Netherlands. So i bought a soldering station with temperature control. Although the adjustable temperature is a great thing the iron is quite heavy and bulky. I was happy to find a replacement tip on eBay, even though the shipping cost from UK to NL are more than ridiculous but i just wanted to be able to use this little iron again. It took about 3 weeks for the tip to arrive! while stuff i but in Chine often arrives within 2 weeks!!! My other order from UK is still in transit, what the hell UK/eBay? So happy with the new tip but no way i am buying from UK ever again.

A quality item, made in the UK. The extreme tip doesn't tin very well and on the M12 iron, heat transfer isn't very good to the tip - hence this tip and the recommended M12 iron isn't up to the task of SMD rework. I suspect it will be better on a C iron but I've not tested that yet. I cannot recommend this tip for use on an M12 iron, especially for SMD work simply due to the M12 having insufficient power, even with lower melt point 60/40 solder. It may be better on a C15 model (untested).

The original chisel ended bit on my Amtex C15 soldering iron had worn out. I got these as a replacement and they are just great.
