Horrible signal reception no matter where in the house.

This product really sucks. Horrible reception. Plugged in with power or not plugged in with power. Doesn't matter how much signal power you are getting. Not getting a decent signal anywhere in the house. doesn't matter how I try to turn it either. Its just a bad antenna. Get an outdoor one that cost only 40 dollars more is MUCH more worth it.

    Bad Buy For Me

I live 11 miles N from my nearest tower, 36 miles NW from the next, 38 miles NW from another, 55-62 miles NNE from others. If this is similar to your location DON'T BUY THIS ANTENNA!!! This antenna might work if your location is on a mountaintop with an unobstructed view of your nearest broadcast towers. This antenna was placed next to our kitchen TV and this morning it is sitting on a box outside our kitchen door facing the 36 mile tower as this is the ONLY tower it will receive. Broadcast signals are poorer when the sun is in play and this antenna works OK inside at night when OL SOL is not around to interfere with the signals. BUT, still only one station even at night. In the last month since we cut the cable I've learned more about antenna engineering than I ever really wanted to know and it's obvious... the days of the foil draped rabbit ears are gone forever. I take responsibility for this purchase and will not make my Seller suffer a return because I did not research this thing adequately. Very soon this TV will connect to my outside antenna which will be a real pain because of the RG6 coax run which, I thought, this antenna would have saved me from doing. This antenna MIGHT work well in a highly saturated broadcast area. Trying this antenna is experimentation at best.

  • Meh

Had a flat antenna on the wall that is a couple of years old and works better. I'm about 30-40 miles from the transmitters and this antenna was advertised as 60 miles. Didn't pick up anything at all. With or without the amplifier. Back to my old flat antenna. Just glad I didn't pay more than 10 bucks. I will say however, one situation where this antenna might be worth it is if you are in a marginal area and need the amplifier that comes with it. For 10 bucks that is usually less than an amplifier as a standalone unit. In my case, I'm using my old flat antenna on the wall, but have the amplifier from this unit hooked to it, and the amplifier from this unit picks up a couple of stations that are just marginal reception with my flat antenna. I do have another amplifier, that I'd gotten from walmart a while back, I think the name is ONN, where at least in my case, it actually causes me to pick up fewer channels if I use it. With the amplifier from the Terk however, it helps my old antenna. If I could set the antenna higher maybe it would do better. And if you were in a city, it would probably do fine. But for me, in a suburb about 30-40 miles away from a city, I'm not having much luck with this antenna itself.

  • Not Bad Could be Better

I bought this for a basement tv. I had a regular indoor antenna that did ok and thought if a had one that had a boost it would perform better. It has but not as well as I had hoped. It pulled in 28 channels which isn’t bad. Most are at least 3 bars on the bar graph. The antenna feels cheaply made. The coax cable and ends could be a little higher grade wire. For now it will work fine. It’s not getting moved around and does it’s job ok.

  • not worth spending more for

The product works well for me with out the amplifer. I get 15 channels with no amp and 10 with it. It does give me a clearer picture than my ten dollar rabbit ears but, no more channels than the cheap ears gave me. Because of that I have to rate this as overpriced. I also thought I would not lose signal or get the pixilated breakup look but that still occurs just as often also. Easy to use, yes not a great value, performs well but not as well as I'd hoped.

  • Free Channels

It's cool for picking up a few extra free local channels. Dish Network charges $10 extra for local channels. You can get about all them free with a good antenna like this one. It's worth the money for a good antenna. Gets more than a normal antenna would.

  • Works fine, but not as well as a larger antenna with amp.

I purchased this device after seeing another in operation. I already have a large antenna and amplifier for my TV, but the Terk device is smaller and would be easier to install. I found it does not work as well as my present system, yet I am not disappointed with this purchase. I will connect it to my FM radio. It is highly directional, which does not allow it to be simply attached to the wall to receive all channels.

  • Looking for an amplified power booster antenna? Look no further. This is the one!

Works well even from 40 to 50 miles away. Crystal clear reception even when raining. I'm getting channels I never even knew were available before. I love this thing! Don't bother reading any more reviews, just buy it and forget it. It's not the cheapest or the most expensive but in my experience it's the best. Especially for the money.....Doug Lee, Punta Gorda, Florida

  • Best Indoor Antenna for my living room so far!

I live in a 2-story apartment that has several walls and about 25 miles between my TV and the location of the TV Towers. I have purchased several amplified indoor antennas. This one is the best so far for this room, which is on the first floor. After a lot of scanning / re-positioning / re-scanning I can now receive almost 30 channels and sub-channels from Milwaukee. Not sure why this model seems to hard to find.

  • Cut the Cord

Best indoor HDTV antenna for the money. Better than you would expect. You need to find the best location for pulling in your local channels. Once you find it ; record/write it down. you can always go back to it with ease if it is bumped out of position. There are variables mentioned by others and in the description. I have received about 30 plus signals, but half are usually not worth it. I always get 16 to 20 solid major local channels. If you are future away from towers than 50 plus miles as the crow flies, you are better off with an outdoor or attic antenna. I am very happy with what I get. We cut the cord and are satisfied with streaming options you can get with good WIFI. Prime, Hula and others if you want to spend little more. So nice to be in touch with our local channels. My wife likes EMBY for her movies and repeat shows. I have Streaming Solutions for my Cable Opinions and SPORTS. We do not save a great deal over Cable, but we do save at least 20 to 30 dollars a month and watch what we want to when we want to. And if we had to we could just good with antenna/ local feeds and save 0ver one hundred dollars a month. Worth thinking about.
