Mountain out of a Molehill
Preposterous premise but charming, nonetheless. Sentimental portrayal of a rural Welsh village contriving for the tallest mountain in Wales. Abetted, unwittingly or otherwise, by a coupe of English land surveyors, a case of good surveyor, bad surveyor. Hugh Grant, type-casts as himself, is the good surveyor who "went up a hill", is charmed not only by idyllic Wales but, also by one of it's more attractive inhabitants played by Tara Fitzgerald. As the senior surveyor, Ian McNeice does a good turn as a clichéd bombast of an Englishman. Memorably, Colm Meaney, as the scheming pub-landlord, steals the scenes. While Kenneth Griffith, as the hyper-ventilating Reverend Jones, merely irritates.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
