Author BiographyBorn in Poland in 1884, Rav Yehuda Ashlag spent most of his life in what is now Israel, where in 1922 he founded the original Kabbalah Center. He was the teacher and spiritual master of Rav Yehuda Brandwein, to whom leadership of the Center was passed when Rav Ashlag died in 1956. Rav Brandwein, in turn, designated Rav P.S. Berg to lead the Center when he died in 1969. Michael Berg is co-director of The Kabbalah Center International, the leading educational organization dedicated to the wisdom of Kabbalah. Son of the preeminent Kabbalist Rav P.S. Berg, and an accomplished Kabbalistic scholar and teacher in his own right, Michael Berg was the first person ever to translate the entire 23-volume Zohar from ancient Aramaic into English. His other books include The Secret, Secrets of the Zohar, Days of Connection, Becoming like God, and, The Way. He lives in Los Angeles.
