Metal Halide Reef Lighting
I am old school, and have always used metal halide lighting on all of my reef tanks. Now about these lights. They are not the best quality, BUT they can be improved quite easily. The standard T5 lights that come with them are cheap oddysea Lamps, which are supposed to be Actinic. The Halide Bulbs/Lamps are not of good quality, which shows as the colour temp which they quote, like 14000k or above, but the reality is they are more like 9000k. A nice looking affect, but again can be improved easily.
So Basically expect to change out all lamps and bulbs to quality items, such as ATI actinics for the T5 and a proper Reef Metal halide Bulb/lamp which will give you a crisp white/blue light..
You will then have a fantastic looking light, which will grow anything and will look natural with the metal halide Light shimmer.
