  • Weird.

I purchased this book after reading a great review on another website which said it was basically Body Worlds meets philosophy. I was expecting interesting Body Worlds images dispersed between accompanying philosophical quotes, but despite the name Gunther Von Hagen on the cover there is not one Body Worlds specimen photo and the majority of the text is short sentences explaining the benefits of exercise, what constitutes a good diet, and also factors that influence bad health amongst other things. If you are an adult under 50 you should have prior knowledge of most of the information contained here. Unfortunately there is a bare minimum of text and philosophy between the covers, and the maximum of either blank space or space-taking random images including a cross section diagram of an erection deep inside a woman's body, a whole page wasted on an individual lovingly stroking two carrots, and a mohican sporting man giving the reader the middle finger. Plus the constant photo's of a face grinning, gurning or guffawing on every other page made me think the name David Lynch should be on the cover instead. So. It's a read once book, and a half hour at best if it can keep your interest. Weird, and lacking thought provoking intellectual content for a 64 page book.
