After making the mistake of buying a cheap version, the Starrett was a much more sensible purchase. It was tried out first on a piece of 3mm brass, which it went through as if it wan't there, producing an exactly sized hole with only a tiny burr on the downward side. Plus a single length of tightly coiled swarf, useless but pretty! Moving on to 2mm stainless steel, this required more pressure, but nothing like as much as expected, and the hole once more was exactly to size (well, two hundredths of a millimetre oversize, as was the brass).Again, there was a very light burr on the downside, easily removed in one pass of a deburring tool. A perfect tool for the job, well worth the money. Buy it, don't waste your money on cheaper offerings.
