Using the TP-8 Microphone with flip style cell phone and Olympus digital Recorder
How I use my microphone with my old style flip cell phone. I plug the TP-8 into my Olympus Digital Recorder and set my cell phone to speaker then hit record on my Olympus digital recorder. I bought this product as it is Olympus used with Olympus so no problems. The sound is of good quality used like this. My only issue thus far with the TP-8 is the quality of the actual wiring. This is thin wiring at best so when you handle and store this you need to pay attention to how you store and mess with it. The wiring is thin. I bought this for genealogy interviews with elderly family members and it seems to work well. If I were a doctor or someone with extended use due to the thin wires you may want to try something else. I purchased this from ebay as the best price. Amazon does carry this but the price changes every single day. Check ebay first and free shipping. It also comes with 3 ear pieces (s, m, l) which is nice. The ear pieces are spongy rubber and perhaps could be a bit heavier (firmer) and it also comes with complete easy to follow instructions. Youtube also has how to videos with the microphones. For my purposes It works very well. Again I want to stress for heavy heavy use you may want to look at something else but I give it an 8 from 1-10. I am not an expert on sound but as stated this works well for my family interviews for family history. Rate ease of use at 10. When storing I am careful not to wad it up due to the thin wiring. Do not crimp or pinch the wires when folding for storage. Pay attention to your handling and enjoy. I recommend this product.
