A bit pricey, but a great torch.
Double safety guard is a good idea. Creates a focused intense flame. Piezoelectric start is a handy feature. There are cheaper ones that will do the job, but at $40, "cheap" is close to being a mute factor.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Seems great but many have longevity issues.
The TS8000 seems sturdy and of good quality. I have only used it 3 times. for a total of 3 minutes mind you. I do like the flame adjustability. It's a must in tight spaces. I have read many concerns and complaints about longevity issues with the ignitor. I would have to wait a year or more to comment either way on that. Reliability is so important with products but difficult to comment on until it's too late to comment. Would give 4 stars but 4 stars is defined as "better than I thought" - by ebay. 3 stars is defined as "it's okay"... Well it is not "better than I thought" so 3 stars it is. This is replacement a very good one
I had ts8000 for awhile. For joining copper pipes, unlocking seized bolts/nuts, lighting camp fires, Used as a hammer(once or twice—almost every tool involved in a hammer side), burning decorations using the flames, fabricating poly, polishing table tops, etc until it got caught in bulldozer tracks. It wasn’t the same after that. So I bought it to replace it while the other went into recycle bin. So far so good I have not have any flames come between my fingers yet. It is a very good torch.
I bought it for the purpose of using Bernzomatic Map-Pro torch. In Japan, the equivalent torch is expensive (about 200 dollars), so we appreciate it's been a very good deal.
