Handy for car boot sales and other crowded places
We found this product handy for short-range communication, but have only tested it up to 3 kilometres so far, and that was roughly in line of sight, with no large buildings in between. Reception drops out if you are in a built-up area, as you'd expect. Speech is clear and understandable, and the 'caller' tone function is useful for getting attention from the person you are calling. We found it ran much better on rechargeable batteries than on the cheap ones from £1 shops. Useful in the woods too, but only short-range, because trees absorb signals, too! All in all, a useful pair of radios for short-distance communication. They are light to carry, pretty tough, and seem to have good battery life between recharges. We use GP ReCyko batteries, and these have been excellent so far. Clear instructions with each set make setting-up quite easy, even for the non-technical.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Although I bought these for communication between myself and the person steering a large boat. I can keep that person in touch with the manoeuvring of the boat as I would be a long way from them.
